Ford Interceptor Stunner!
Well it looks like Ford has come up with the next iteration of the 427 and one that could be closer to production reality. Why else would Ford torture their faithful with an even cooler 427 if they weren't going to build something along these lines? Ford has been rumored to be working on a RWD sedan for team Ford and Lincoln and this baby may hold the key to what that vehicle could look like. It seems that RWD is the key to competition since GM will soon have many with Zeta and Chrysler already has their LX platform. The vehicle is said to have a 4.6L engine bored out to 5.0L with 400 HP. It also runs on E85. The chassis is based off of the Mustang platform but undoubtedly has an independent rear suspension. You might remember that Auto Week had to recant a story about Ford and a four-door Mustang... this is not a Mustang. I love auto show season. Check out the Detroit News Article.

Toyota FT-HS Concept... or new Supra? Well the FT-HS is just a concept but who knows... it could be the next Supra. The concept has 400 HP and is aided by a hybrid powertrain. The Supra could be the answer to the 350Z; a RWD sports car that costs somewhere around $35k. 0-60 in less than five seconds doesn't suck either. Read the Edmunds report for more info.

2007 Brings More of The Same for Automakers Each year analysts look into the crystal ball in an effort to see what lies ahead for the automakers. In Japan the news has been good for a decade, and for the Detroit three it's been bad for about the same time. If you love the Detroit nameplates you've been pretty depressed. Times are tough and they're not getting any better in 2007. The Asian manufacturers are awash with profits and new product and their quality and fuel economy both best the domestics. Toyota killed in 2006 and in 2007 there will be more of the same. The juggernaut plans on selling 9.43 million vehicles worldwide, which should best GM for the world title. GM isn't looking that bad though, as they've been consistantly improving quality and expanding launches. Products like the new CTS should only make the company stronger. Check out the Free Press and Mark Phalen's take on automaker resoulutions for 2007. |

2007 Silverado is cleaning up The truck wars are heating up considerably with the new Tundra only a few months away and with perennial top-seller F-150 still on top of its game. The new truck to beat, though, seems to be the 2007 Silverado. With more engine offerings than any other truck, including a range-toping 6.0L with 367 HP and 375 lb. ft., GM brass seems to have thought of everything. This thing even has two different interior choices! Name another product that can say that. Gas milage is said to be improved also as some models get a combined 20 MPG. Motor Trend recently named the Silverado the Truck of the Year. Check out the video. |

2007 Chrysler Nassau Concept It seems like DCX's Chrysler division has taken a long walk off a short cliff after a successful 2005. The Sebring is just OK and the company is throwing out all kinds of all-new SUVs into a market that doesn't seem to want them. The only thing DCX seems to have going for them is the 300C/Charger. The 2007 Nassau could be a look ahead to that next 300C with its 120 inch wheel base and 4500 lb. estimated weight. While it's definately a looker and the front end is hot, what's up with the Germans trying to force station wagons and hatch backs on the American public? It doesn't seem like the best policy. This beauty will be available for viewing during the 2007 NAIAS. Check out the Car Connection for details. |
